The thoenes® B100 - basalt fiber packing is a packing made of basalt fibers. The picture shows the packing with glass fiber filling. The packing is of course also available in pure basalt.
important properties:
- higher tensile strength compared to glass or polypropylene fibers,
- UV-stable,
- not electrically conductive,
- temperature resistance up to 750 °C (continuous use temperature, short-term 800-850 °C),
- full replacement for asbestos and glass fiber braids.
fields of application:
- as heat and sound insulation and for chemical insulation (in the construction industry, aviation industry, power stations)
- as insulation for cables or pipes
forms of delivery:
- square (dimension: 5 - 25 mm*) or round cross-section (10 - 50 mm*),
- continuous goods on rolls or in the desired length,
- can be made up (e.g. as a ring) on request,
- coatings on request.
